I let my house get away from me.
I didn’t have the home regular inspected and I wasn’t great about looking around the property.
I bought the house and basically ignored it. I stayed over at my boyfriends most of the time. Then we decided to get married and I made the decision to move into his home and sell mine. I then found out that I had severe termite damage in the home. It was the level that it needed to be bombed and then totally gutted due to the damage. The amount of repairs and maintenance required was obscene. I was looking at potentially going in the hole financially for a bit before I made any money. I don’t want to deal with the stress of termite damage while navigating a move and a wedding. So I ended up looking online on how to sell my termite damaged home fast for cash. The cash home offers were better than doing a real estate agent. I didn’t need to do any work or even clean out the house. Termite damage obviously lowered the cost of it, but I felt I got a fair deal. I was just glad to walk away with cash in hand and not required to do anything else. The home buyer out of Portland was really great about stealing my options and explaining why he felt the price was fair. I hope I never get in that type of situation again but if I do, I am using him again.
